board members. A recent study shows that Hispanics
hold only 152 Hispanic board seats at Fortune 1000 companies.
Many major US political figures reportedly are taking
Spanish
lessons...so they can ask for the votes of Hispanics,
the nation's fastest-growing minority.

Hispanic markets, in terms of buying power, are
led by Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Chicago, says
new study.

Mexican President Fox's
push for the naturalization of 3 million illegal Mexicans
in the US is likely to be tabled as legislative attention
turns to counter-terrorism.
The H1B quota for fiscal year 2001 (Oct 2000 to Sep 2001)
is 195,000--80,000 more than last year. As of August, approximately
138,000 H1B applications have been approved.
