Job/Research Summary
This position will perform analyses related to the development and market adoption of solar energy technologies. The position requires an advanced knowledge of energy, policy, market, environment, and technology analysis areas. Results of analysis activities will support recommendations to national-level policies and decision makers.
Job Duties
The successful candidate will provide expertise and support to the following functions:
Gathering and synthesizing data on a wide range of solar technology, policy, and market topics
Working with modelers and technologist to improve the representation of solar technologies in models and to develop supporting data used in the models
Writing clear, detailed reports and presentation materials on solar related issues to inform solar policy making and for dissemination of results to DOE, the administration, Congress, and the public
Participating in collaborative activities with other national laboratories, universities, and organizations
Performing innovative analyses and interpretations of solar technology related regulations and policies
Publishing and presenting results of studies in technical reports, peer-reviewed journals, and at conferences, symposia, and review meetings.

Requirements |
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in economics, science, engineering or other relevant field or equivalent experience. 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in technology policy, energy policy, environmental policy, economics, business, or other related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Three years of related policy, market, or technology analysis experience as well. Knowledge of renewable energy, energy efficiency technologies, and market opportunities and barriers related to their use. Experience in analysis of energy/environmental/technology policies, impacts, and strategies. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and independently with guidance from senior staff. Experience in managing projects and in direct client interaction and support. Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
