Description

The position is located in the Governmental and Public Affairs
directorate, serving the office of the Commandant. The incumbent
serves as the Coast Guard's internet and intranet web program
manager. Duties and responsibilities include:

- Coordinating web activities and performing web functions;

- identifying web content needs and working with CG-6 and OSC to
implement creative solutions to meet such needs;

- serving as CG-092's web liaison with Coast Guard Headquarters
directorates and with Coast Guard field units;

- developing and writing news articles and photograph captions for
the Coast Guard internet site;

- coordinating with Coast Guard Headquarters directorates and field
units for the submission and editing of journal entries.


Requirements

Applicants must posses specialized experience at the next lower
grade. Specialized experience demonstrates mastery knowledge of web
design and web content preparation; ability to develop, write, and
edit web content; writing and editing electronic media; and written
and oral communication.

OR

Completed the requirements for a Master's degree, or at least 36
semester hours toward a Master's or Ph.D.

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education
leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
or

A combination of graduate education and
experience, as described above.

Specialized experience is experience that has
equipped you with the particular ability, skill,
and knowledge to successfully perform the duties
of this position and is typically in or related
to this line of work.

All students in the program must be enrolled or accepted for
enrollment as degree-seeking students, taking at least a half-time
academic or technical course load in an accredited 4 year program,
or in a post-secondary level program. Students must also be in good
academic standing.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of
the announcement.

proof of their current enrollment or a letter documenting their
acceptance for enrollment prior to being appointed.
