Description of Opportunity: Acquisition Services include opportunities that involve solicitation, evaluation, negotiation and monitoring of contract awards. Acquisition services professionals build relationships with warfighters, the Intelligence Community, commercial, nonprofit and educational organizations as well as state, local and foreign governments to accomplish the work necessary to successfully acquire goods and services critical to DIA's success.
Acquisition Services Professionals are skilled in the nuances surrounding the acquisition of goods and services. They ensure that acquisition considers all policies and plans so that public funds are spent appropriately. They develop and plan acquisition actions by identifying needs throughout the contract award process and beyond, and they establish and implement a comprehensive, data-driven business solution capability coupled with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
In many cases Acquisition Services Professionals perform as a business manager, designing and formulating executable acquisition strategies that support warfighters and the Intelligence Community. They prepare acquisition documents and work with knowledgeable professionals throughout DIA to frame and develop programs as well as establish methods and procedures that will best achieve defined objectives. They assess, analyze and evaluate programmatic issues for complex, high-value and long-term requirements, and provide just-in-time support for all other acquisition issues that arise. They also represent DIA as an interagency and intergovernmental member at various venues, including workgroups, conferences and problem resolution meetings.

Contracting Apply business management expertise and support throughout the acquisition lifecycle and solicit, award and administer complex contracts.
Procurement Analysis Facilitate an effective procurement process by offering the best solutions in support of the mission and warfighters.
Program Management (Acquisition) Manage the full lifecycle of the acquisition program, monitoring costs, schedules, performance and risks.
Information Technology Identify and describe information technology (IT) acquisition strategies and program management approaches, performance measures, quality management, enterprise architectures and best practices to field and sustain IT systems.
Business, Cost Estimating & Financial Management Oversee budget and program principles, policies, procedures, financial management, and lifecycle acquisition processes.
Facilities Engineering Manage the full lifecycle of a facilities program from planning through disposal, including design, construction, environmental management and real property maintenance.
